Dr Keith Beasley BDS

Stoke

Keith Beasley started One Dental in 2009 after relocating from the UK where he ran a successful practice in Shropshire.  Originally from Middlesbrough and qualifying as a dentist in 1986 at Newcastle University Keith worked in a number of dental practices in the UK and had a post at the Dental Hospital in Sydney Australia.  Previously he had also owned 2 dental practices in Auckland between 1997 and 2004.  He has over 30 years experience as a dentist and has a particular interest in Crown and Bridgework and restoring Implants.  He is married to Alison and they have 2 children George 18 and Emilia 13 who has special needs.  Keith is an empathic gentle dentist who enjoys working with all his patients treating each one with respect and understanding.

Keith is currently working 4 days a week in Stoke and spends his spare time playing golf when he is not at home with his family.  Also a keen skier in the winter.

Dr Nicky Francis BDS BSc PGDipSci

Stoke and Mapua

Nicky Francis has just returned to Nelson and is excited to be joining One Dental.  Nicky is an ex Hampden Street School and Nelson College for Girls student.  She has spent time in the North Island before coming to her senses and returning to Nelson.  With 20 years experience as a Dentist Nicky has initally worked in Waikato Hospital and subsequently owned two practices in the Bay of Plenty for the past 15 years.  Nicky is known for being gentle and caring.

Nicky loves being in the great outdoors where you will find her running, biking and paddle boarding with her husband Paul and furbaby Kaiya the dog.

Dr Charlotte Hurst BDS Hons, MFDS RCS (Glasg)

Mapua and Stoke

Charlotte graduated from Cardiff University, Wales in 2015.  In this time she has gained significant experience in dentistry.  After graduation she worked full time in general practice before working as a senior house officer within the Maxillofacial and Oral Surgery department of her local hospital.  Here she spent time managing facial trauma and patients’ on the ward alongside carrying out complex extractions.  Before moving overseas to New Zealand in January 2018 she spent time in the Emergency Dental service as a locum and working in private practice.  Charlotte believes in having a holistic approach to her patients to ensure a high level of care is provided.  She particularly enjoys working with anxious patients, children and places a strong emphasis on making dentistry gentle and friendly.

Charlotte is also trained in full body Western Medical Acupuncture where she firmly believes it has a place in modern medicine.  Her primary aim is to increase it’s use within the world of dentistry.

When not at work you will find her doing yoga, hiking or road biking, all of which complements her ethos to live an honest well balanced lifestyle.

Dr Stuart Duncan BDS (Edin)

Mapua and Stoke

Stuart Duncan our Scottish born dentist is happy to return to Nelson.  Many of you may know Stuart from his previous time spent in Nelson where he was hugely appreciated by his Nelson clients.

Stuart trained in Edinburgh – he has spent time working in the UK and Jersey before moving to New Zealand.   Stuart has a special interest in Orthodontics and creating a beautiful smile.

Stuart is loving his return to Nelson and New Zealand where he can enjoy the outdoors, fishing, running and getting out and about.  He brings with him this time the new addition of two puppies!

Michelle Johnstone – Oral Health Therapist and Hygienist

After graduating from Dental Therapy at Otago in 1999, Michelle worked in public health for 3 years in Canterbury and Otago, treating children from 2 to 12 years of age at the School Dental Service.
 
After 2 years working and travelling in Sydney and Canada Michelle returned to South Australia where she studied whilst working for the SA Dental Service.
 
Michelle completed her Advanced Diploma in Dental Hygiene in 2009 and commenced work at a busy Dental Partners practice in the Clare Valley. Here she gained 6 years of invaluable experience working as a dental therapist and dental hygienist for a large group of happy patients. Michelle brings her friendly nature and professionalism to offer each patient the best dental experience possible.

Robyn

Mapua

Robyn has been a familiar face in our Mapua clinic for the last 17 years.  She is a wealth of knowledge about the practice, starting as a clinical assistant then becoming dental receptionist to the practice.  She loves getting to know our patients on a personal level and making them feel welcome and relaxed.

In her spare time Robyn likes to get stuck into those maintenance jobs around the home and in the garden.  She also loves to travel with her partner and spending time with her 3 adult children and 3 grandchildren.
